April 12 life choicesSo I am at that time of the year where I am applying to Grad School and trying to figure out what God wants me to do with my life...I'm not really sure. Does he want me to move back to China? Does He want me to do a program in Boston? Does he want me to stay here? I am pretty sure that it is not the last option, but I find myself wondering at his plan and what course he wants me to take. If you think of it, lift me up these next couple of weeks.
Spring BreakMy mom, sister, and I decided to take a road trip through Kentucky to Gatlinburg Tennessee to see the Smokey Mountains and Mammoth Cave and at the last minute my Grandma decided to join us. We had a lot of fun.
If you ever go to Mammoth Cave, KY be sure to go on the violet city lantern tour. It is a three hour long tour that takes you through parts of the cave where there are no electric lights and you only use lanterns to explore the caves. It is pretty exciting, we even saw bats which were surprisingly cute.
Cumberland Falls is also REALLY beautiful and has this really cool lodge at the top of the mountain where you can stay and it has awesome views. Sometime my family wants to rent a house boat on lake cumberland which is also really beautiful.
Our third stop--Cumberland Gap--was neat, but really the only thing to do there is hike, so get out your walking shoes. It is HUGE and really spread out. I would have liked to have done more hiking deep in the gap.
Gatlinburg TN is EXTREMELY touristy, but the mountains there are beautiful. We went horseback riding which i totally loved. The only thing I regret about the trip is that we didn't hike more.
Overall I'd tell anyone who was thinking about going to definitely do it. It is a lot of fun.
LouieSo I've realized I need to get back on the ball with updating this site...what have I been up to...
I have a new little guy in my life...his name is Louie and he is an African Grey Parrot that my family has now adopted. He is a great bird when he is not trying to chew things he shouldn't be. He doesn't have the vocabulary that Wilbur does, but he is learning. Last week while my Aunt and Uncle were on Spring Break we babysat Will and he taught Louie a new word. Wilbur. Louie has yet to say his own name but loves to say Wilbur's. He has made a nice little addition to our family.
Also bird related, at my father's shop we have also had little baby finches that have just hatched. It is amazing how God can create something that small and cute. They are about the size of a Jellybean and covered in fuzz. I'll see if I can take a picture sometime soon.
